Huqo Slides

Build coherent presentations with editable layouts, theme controls, speaker notes, presenting tools and PowerPoint exchange.

On this page

Build your first presentation

Open Slides from Suite and create a presentation. It opens in its own tab. Name it using the Suite header, then choose Templates for a complete starting deck or New slide for one of the editable slide layouts. The current slide sits in the centre, the slide strip helps you move through the deck, and Edit slide opens its content and design controls.

Start from structured layouts for a coordinated deck, or use editable objects for precise positioning. Text boxes, shapes, images, tables and charts can sit above the template. Choose Blank canvas in Design when you want only your own objects; the template content is kept and can be shown again.

  1. Choose a presentation template or add an Opening statement slide.
  2. Open Edit slide and replace the sample headline, supporting line and body copy.
  3. Choose a theme and font pairing in Design so the deck has one visual direction.
  4. Add the remaining slides and arrange them in a useful order.
  5. Use Present to review the story, then wait for the Suite saved status before closing.

Choose layouts and edit content

New slide offers Opening statement, Editorial story, Image & story, Agenda & ideas, A memorable quote, Numbers that matter and The next chapter. A new slide is inserted after the selected slide. You can change its Layout later in Edit slide > Content without retyping the main fields.

The content controls include Eyebrow, Headline, Supporting line and Body copy. For Agenda & ideas, put one agenda item per line. For Numbers that matter, enter one metric per line using value | label, such as 42% | Growth. Preview the result as you type and keep each slide focused on one message.

  • Eyebrow supports up to 120 characters, headline 300, supporting line 500 and body copy 3,000.
  • Use Slides to show or hide the filmstrip when you want more canvas space.
  • Use the slide's skip control when it should remain in the file but stay out of the presentation.
  • Speaker notes are separate from the body copy shown on the slide.

Apply themes, fonts and pictures

Open Edit slide > Design to choose Atelier, Midnight, Cobalt, Modern rose, Ink & paper or Forest. A theme supplies a coordinated palette across the deck. You can separately choose the heading font and body font. Theme and typography are presentation-wide settings, so preview several slides after changing them.

In Content, upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 2 MB. The picture can be replaced or removed. Horizontal focus and Vertical focus control which part stays prominent in the layout's crop; Centre picture resets both. Adding a picture to an unsuitable layout switches it to Image & story so it has room to display.

Slide tools > Presentation size changes the deck between Widescreen 16:9 and Portrait 9:16. This affects the whole presentation. Use widescreen for most meeting displays and portrait for a vertical story or phone-focused handout.

Design includes a per-slide background, Blank canvas and None, Fade or Push transitions. Transitions play during presenting and respect reduced-motion preferences. Template themes, font pairing and presentation size remain deck-wide controls.

Arrange slides and reuse a complete design

Choose a slide in the filmstrip to edit it. Drag a thumbnail to reorder, or use Move slide earlier and Move slide later. Slide tools contains Duplicate. The canvas controls include deletion, while Undo and Redo help recover recent changes. Keep at least one slide in the presentation.

Templates opens a searchable gallery of complete decks. You can filter by category and inspect the included slides. Use this presentation replaces the deck after a confirmation; Add slides appends the template slides and keeps your current theme, fonts and size. This is useful when you only need an agenda, reporting section or closing sequence from another design.

  • Presentations support up to 100 slides, including skipped slides.
  • Ctrl+Alt+Up and Ctrl+Alt+Down move the selected slide when you are not typing in a field.
  • Ctrl+Z undoes and Ctrl+Shift+Z redoes slide changes outside text fields.
  • The editor keeps a recent 30-change undo history for the open editing session.
  • Make a backup before major changes; session Undo and saved Version history serve different purposes.

Present with notes and a clear delivery flow

Select Slide tools > Speaker notes to show the notes field beneath the current slide. Add talking points there rather than crowding the slide with every detail. Present starts with the selected visible slide, or the next visible one if the selection is skipped. Presenter view also opens the notes and next-slide preview.

Presentation mode includes an elapsed timer with Pause timer, Resume timer and Reset timer. Presenter tools toggles the presenter panel. Blackout temporarily hides the slide content when you want attention on the speaker. Skipped slides are excluded from the normal presentation sequence.

  • Right, Down, Space or Page Down advances to the next visible slide.
  • Left, Up or Page Up goes back.
  • Home and End jump to the first and last visible slides.
  • B toggles blackout and P toggles presenter notes.
  • Escape or Exit presentation returns to editing.
  • Presenter notes are visible on the same screen when enabled. Turn them off before sharing that screen with your audience.

Import PowerPoint and export your work

Export contains PowerPoint, Print / save as PDF, Presentation document (.html), Editable Huqo Slides backup and Speaker notes (.txt). PowerPoint export keeps text, shapes and notes editable. Print and HTML include visible slides and omit skipped ones; a Huqo backup preserves the editable deck data, including the skipped slides. Editable object layers, table data, chart data and transition choices are also preserved in Huqo backups and supported Huqo PowerPoint roundtrips.

Import PowerPoint accepts .pptx files within 32 MB and adds slides to your existing deck. Supported Huqo exports restore editable object positions, text, images, tables and retained chart data. Other PowerPoint files use the bounded content-adaptation path and your current theme; complex external layouts and media may change. Keep the source and inspect the converted result.

Import Huqo Slides accepts the matching .huqoslides backup format within 8 MB and replaces the deck with that saved content. Export a backup first if you want to keep the current deck. The final saved Suite presentation must remain below 5 MB, regardless of the larger source-file import allowance.

Charts export as editable vector groups rather than Excel-linked native charts. Rotated tables export as editable grouped cells. Editing individual exported chart bars or rotated table cells does not update the retained chart/table data on reimport. Ordinary text boxes and unrotated native table edits can be imported normally.

  1. Choose Export and the format needed by the recipient.
  2. For a PDF, choose Print / save as PDF and select your browser's PDF destination.
  3. Allow the print window if your browser blocks it, then check the page preview.
  4. Open exported PowerPoint files on the intended device and inspect fonts, spacing and pictures before presenting externally.

Build slides with editable objects

Use the insertion ribbon to add text, rectangles, ellipses, lines, images, tables or bar charts. Select an object on the canvas and drag it to move it. Resize with its handles, or enter position and size in Edit slide > Objects. Arrow keys nudge the selected object; Shift makes a larger movement.

The Objects inspector includes text content, font, size, bold, italic, alignment, colour, fill, outline, rotation and opacity. Tables accept tab-separated rows and columns; choose Apply table data. Chart data uses labels and nonnegative values; choose Apply chart data. Keep one clear message per slide even when many tools are available.

The layer list controls stacking order, names, visibility and locking. Duplicate makes an independent copy. Locking prevents accidental canvas movement; hiding keeps the object in the file while omitting it from the delivered slide. Undo reverses an entire drag or resize gesture.

  • Each slide supports up to 80 editable objects.
  • Tables support up to 10 rows and 8 columns; bar charts support up to 12 values.
  • Use embedded PNG, JPEG or WebP images, and keep the complete saved presentation below 5 MB.

Common questions

Why does an imported PowerPoint look different? Huqo exports preserve supported object data, while arbitrary third-party decks use the editable content-adaptation path. Keep the original when exact positioning or advanced PowerPoint features are essential.

Why will Present not start? At least one slide must be visible. Turn off skipping on a slide and try again.

Why can I not add another slide or template? The full deck, including appended or imported slides, must stay within 100 slides and the 5 MB saved-document limit.

Why is a picture cropped? Adjust Horizontal focus and Vertical focus in Content, or choose a layout with more picture space.

What if changes are not saved? Keep the tab open, export an editable backup, check your connection and use Retry save. The saved status confirms online storage; exporting alone does not confirm that the account copy saved.
