Writing assistant: spelling, grammar and confident copy
Check spelling and grammar, refine clarity and tone, and apply reviewed suggestions to the text you choose across Huqo Suite.

Write first. Polish when you are ready.
Writing tools brings a shared writing assistant to the Suite. Use the Writing tools button beside supported text or in the app menu. An integrated button opens only the field or selection it names. A general menu opens a scratchpad where you can paste your own text.
Normal browser spellcheck can underline possible spelling errors as you type in supported prose fields. Its dictionary and available corrections depend on your browser and language settings. This is separate from the AI assistant and does not use Huqo AI tokens.
The AI assistant runs only when you choose to check the text. Opening the panel, typing, reading counts or reviewing an existing result does not start a new paid check.
Use it where you write
- Docs: review selected prose while keeping document formatting and use document Undo after applying changes.
- Sheets: check a text cell. Formula and numeric cells remain outside writing corrections so calculations are not rewritten.
- Slides: refine supported text in your current slide without changing its layout.
- Forms: improve form introductions, questions and help text. Respondent submissions are not read automatically.
- Tasks: polish task titles and descriptions.
- Studio: check selected editable canvas text; video titles and captions have their own writing entry. Photo images remain pixels, so use the scratchpad for accompanying copy.
- PDF: select a text annotation you added and choose Writing tools. The assistant does not extract the original PDF, scan form values or change signatures.
- Community and Marketplace: refine supported drafts such as posts, replies, profile copy, template listings and reviews before you publish them.
- Commerce: polish supported product, collection and store copy. Prices, stock levels and checkout settings are outside writing corrections.
- Drive, Sign and other workspace views: use the general Writing tools scratchpad for wording you deliberately paste. Files, recipient details and signing documents are not collected automatically.
Choose the result you need
A check currently costs 2 Huqo AI tokens and accepts up to 12,000 characters. These are Huqo prepaid credits, not a direct count of provider text tokens. The panel displays the current cost and available balance before a check. Longer documents can be checked in smaller selections.
Word count, character count and estimated reading time are calculated in your browser. Reading time is an estimate, not a measure of quality. Suggested wording is configured to avoid em dashes.
- Open Writing tools beside the text you want to review, or paste text into the scratchpad.
- Choose Australian English, British English or American English. Australian English is the default.
- Choose Proofread for corrections, or choose the available clarity, shorter, professional or friendly writing goal.
- Review the displayed token cost and the text that will be processed, then start the check.
- Read each suggestion, its explanation and the proposed replacement. Apply suggestions you agree with and ignore the rest.
Stay in control of every change
Suggestions show the original text, proposed replacement and a reason. They can cover spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity and style. The source stays unchanged until you apply a suggestion. Suggestions are advice and can be wrong, especially for specialist terminology, names, quotations and deliberate writing styles.
An integrated target is checked again before a correction is applied. If you edit it, switch files or remove the selected object, an older suggestion cannot safely replace it. Reopen Writing tools on the current text and run a fresh check when needed.
Use the app's Undo for editor changes. Supported draft-field integrations also provide a local undo for the correction while that field remains unchanged. Scratchpad changes stay in the panel until you copy them yourself. Keep important writing in its document or an independent backup.
Only the text you choose is sent for checking
When you start a check, the chosen text and your writing options are processed using Huqo's configured OpenAI connection. The assistant does not silently scan the page, other documents, neighbouring fields, private PDFs or background tabs.
Do not send passwords, payment details or confidential personal information you do not have permission to process. Writing requests use the existing private account AI request and usage records. Writing results are not added to the public Studio graphics library.
Keep factual claims, prices, names, dates and promises under your own review. The assistant is a writing aid and does not check legal compliance, guarantee accuracy, detect all plagiarism or prove that text is original.
Recover a slow check without paying twice
If the connection is interrupted, check the existing request rather than repeatedly starting new checks. Each check has a unique request reference and repeating that same request does not create a second charge. Failed requests release their reserved tokens under the existing AI wallet rules.
A pending request is not a completed result. Keep your source writing safe, use the panel's recovery controls and wait for a confirmed outcome. Never assume a suggestion has been applied merely because generation finished.
If writing tools are unavailable, check Suite access, AI availability and token balance. Native browser spellcheck and ordinary editing still work independently. Contact support with the visible error and request reference rather than sharing private writing or credentials.
