Huqo Studio: design, photo and video guide

Create graphics, refine photos and edit videos, then keep an editable project alongside the finished files you share.

On this page

Start in your creative workspace

Open Studio from the Suite workspace. Create a design opens the canvas editor in its own tab; Create a video opens the timeline editor. Your Studio projects lists saved designs and videos together. Use the Designs and Videos filters, project search and sort controls to find existing work. Refresh projects checks for changes saved in another tab.

A finished image or movie is different from its editable project. Keep the project so you can change the wording, layout, clips or timing later. Download the finished version when it is ready for a website, social account, presentation or customer.

  1. Choose Create a design or Create a video.
  2. Give the project a useful name, such as October opening hours or Bakery launch video.
  3. Start from a template or create your own layout.
  4. Check the save status before closing the tab, then download a finished copy when needed.

Choose and adapt a design template

Templates provide an editable starting point. Browse the available categories, search for a purpose or style, and select the design you want. When a template offers a choice between replacing the current design and adding a page, choose the action that matches your intention. Replacing changes the current page; adding preserves it and creates another page.

Replace sample text and photos before publishing. Select text to change the wording, font, size, colour and spacing. Select images or graphics to resize and arrange them. Keep important wording inside the canvas, and use Preview to check the overall composition without the editing controls.

  • Use Layers when an object sits behind another object or is difficult to select.
  • Use grouping and alignment tools to keep related objects together.
  • Lock objects that should stay fixed while you edit nearby content.
  • Use the Delete key to remove a selected object when you are working on the canvas, rather than typing in a field.
  • Undo and redo let you step through design changes, including movement. Shortcuts do not intentionally replace normal typing inside a text field.

Work with multiple pages

The Pages bar switches between pages in one design document. Add page creates another page. Page options lets you rename, duplicate, move or remove the active page. The overview is useful when a long document no longer fits in the page strip. A design document supports up to 30 pages.

Page notes keep talking points or creative instructions with a page without adding them to the artwork. Save notes in the notes dialog. You can download saved notes as text, and show notes in presentation mode. Notes do not appear in exported artwork.

  • Duplicate page when you want a consistent series with different text or photographs.
  • Move earlier and Move later change the document order.
  • PDF document · All pages exports the full document. Image exports use the current page.
  • The PDF resolution choices are 96, 150 and 300 DPI. Higher resolution cannot restore detail missing from a small source photograph.

Reuse your brand and create variations

Studio tools includes Projects, Brand, Resize, Bulk create and Charts. Brand stores a brand name, three colours, heading font, body font and logo. Choose Save brand kit before relying on the settings for future work. Insert logo adds the saved logo to the canvas. Style selection applies the primary colour to selected objects; Apply fonts to page applies the chosen brand fonts.

Resize adapts a design to another format. Review the result, especially text wrapping and the crop of photographs. Bulk create substitutes text placeholders such as {{headline}} using CSV rows. This is useful for a series of announcements or offers. Charts turns a small data set into a bar, line or donut graphic.

  • Brand logos accept PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG up to 1 MB.
  • Bulk create accepts 1 to 15 unique column headings and 1 to 25 data rows. Every row must match the headings.
  • Use matching column names inside double-brace text placeholders.
  • Charts support up to 12 values. Check the source numbers and labels before sharing a graphic.

Use optional Studio AI with a clear budget

Choose AI tools in the design editor, or AI in the mobile toolbar, to open writing, editable design, colour palette and available image-generation tools. AI is optional. It needs active Suite access and separate prepaid Huqo AI tokens; the Suite subscription does not include a token allowance.

The panel shows the fixed token cost before Generate. Review the result first, then choose whether to apply it. An AI design adds a new page, while text, colour and image actions show their target before applying. Undo remains available. Generating a completed result uses tokens even if you choose not to apply it; applying it does not cost more.

Read Studio AI: writing, designs and prepaid tokens for the pack prices, detailed workflows, private context choices and interrupted-request recovery. The Huqo Assistant guide explains the separate support chat.

Edit a photo without rebuilding your layout

Applying a photo edit preserves the surrounding text and objects. Undo remains available after the photo is updated. If the original photo changes while its editor is open, close the photo editor and reopen it before applying more changes. Photos must be readable and within 32 megapixels. The photo download format selector provides PNG, JPEG and WebP.

  1. Select one unlocked photo on the design canvas, then choose Edit photo. Alternatively, use Upload a photo to add a PNG, JPEG or WebP image.
  2. Use Adjust for Exposure, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Vibrance, Warmth, Tint, Hue, Sharpness and Soft focus.
  3. Try a photo look and adjust its strength. Compare the before and after views instead of judging the change from memory.
  4. Use Crop to choose a ratio, move the crop, rotate or flip the image.
  5. Apply the edit to update the selected photo in your design, or use Download photo for a separate image file.

Build a video from media and scenes

The video library separates Media, Scenes, Templates, Titles, Graphics, Audio, Captions and Projects. Import your video, photos and audio into Media, then drag them onto a timeline track. Drag a clip to move it, drag its edges to trim it, or place the playhead inside it and use Split. The navigator and timeline zoom help you move through a longer edit without changing the clips.

Use the preview to arrange visual clips. Later tracks appear above earlier tracks, and captions appear above visuals. The clip settings provide transforms, fit or crop, speed, transitions, motion, visual adjustments and audio controls. Titles can use editable text styling and animation. Audio tracks can overlap; check levels and fades in the preview before exporting.

Captions can be edited on the timeline, and subtitle files can be imported from SRT or VTT. Scenes and motion templates provide a structured starting point. Choosing a video template starts a new video and keeps the existing project.

  • Space plays or pauses. Left and Right move one frame; hold Shift for ten frames.
  • S splits an eligible selected clip at the playhead. Delete or Backspace removes selected clips.
  • Ctrl or Command Z undoes; adding Shift redoes. Ctrl or Command S saves.
  • Use I and O to mark a section for looping or export; M adds a timeline marker.
  • Ctrl or Command C, X and V copy, cut and paste clips at the playhead. D with Ctrl or Command duplicates a selection.
  • Alt temporarily disables timeline snapping while moving clips. Shift keeps proportions when resizing on the preview.

Save, export and keep a backup

For a design, the Download menu includes PNG, transparent PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF and editable JSON options. Choose a format for the destination: PNG for crisp graphics, JPEG for photographs, SVG for supported vector artwork, PDF for a complete document, and JSON for an editable Studio backup. Confirm that fonts and images look correct in the downloaded file.

For video, Export your video offers MP4 with H.264 or WebM when supported by your browser. Select quality, output size and the intended export range. Keep the tab open until rendering finishes. Download project + media backup creates a .huqovideo backup; Download mixed audio as WAV exports the audio mix separately.

  • Video media files can be up to 100 MB each. A project supports 100 media assets, 300 clips, 16 tracks and 500 captions, within a 10-minute duration.
  • Studio's video interface shows an allowance of 50 projects and 200 MB across the Studio account. Check the storage display before importing a large batch.
  • A saved project is editable. A downloaded PNG or MP4 is a finished output and does not retain the original layer or timeline controls.

Common questions and fixes

Cannot select an object? Check whether it is locked, grouped or covered by another layer. A photo editor requires one image selection, not a group or several images. If a template looks different after loading, allow its fonts and images to finish loading, then compare the editable canvas with Preview.

An unavailable MP4 or WebM option means the browser cannot provide the required export codec. Try another enabled format or an up-to-date supported browser. For slow exports, reduce the output resolution, shorten the range or simplify a very large edit. If saving fails, keep the tab open and download an editable backup before reloading or closing it.

Cloud projects belong to your signed-in Huqo account. Local-only previews store work in that browser and device. Do not rely on a local preview as a substitute for a cloud save or downloaded backup.

Review spelling, grammar and tone

Use Writing tools for on-demand spelling, grammar, clarity and tone suggestions. Review the named source and displayed AI token cost before checking. Suggestions only change your writing when you apply them. The Writing assistant guide explains supported fields, language choices, privacy and undo.
